D I Y STREETSTYLE - #PFW

Fashion weeks sooo remind me of that movie Night At The Roxbury where Doug and Steve think that it would be better to have the outside of the nightclub on the inside and the inside on the outside. In the case of fashion week clearly what goes on outside the shows is just as important as what goes on inside on the catwalk. Very happy to see that there was DIY inspiration aplenty at the recent Paris Fashion Week!

Wrap your beanie with mesh lace for a Jil Sander inspired winter look.

Deconstruct a few shirts - sew the front of a khaki shirt onto the sides of a pattered shirt.

Cut rectangles out of a mini white dress

Swap the handle of your bag for some knotted neon climbing rope and linked up carabiners.

Cover a clutch in yellow fringe.

Stud the shoulder strap of a handbag.

DIY Cut Out Shoulder Shirt

You think these trends will go away after a while, but I still love the cut out shoulder shirt as much as I did when I first saw it on Hanelli a long long time ago (in fashion years). Follow my tutorial here (equally old) but use a oversized mens shirt this time to create a dress.
Obviously I wet my pants when I found out that Miroslava Duma now does outfit posts. Does anyone else wish you could carry her around in your pocket (as she is so tiny) and pull her out when you need style advice?

DIY Two Way Shirt

Found this cute Uniqlo shirt over at Shini's blog Park & Cube (literally my visual sugar). How good! If you dont have a Uniqlo near you why not make one yourself by adding some button and button holes to a shirt?

DIY Cut Out Shirt

The number of times I have posted about cut out collared shirts is more than I can count on both hands, but designers keep coming up with ways to inspire me to take some scissors to a thrifted shirt! This is a new and fun way to cut out a shirt seen in the recent Carla Spetic collection. This.has.weekend.project.all.over.it.

DIY at LFW - Bell Embellished Sleeves

Ahhhhh I love this sooo much. Take a white shirt and embellish the sleeves with crazy bells or buttons. So. Cool. I'm really enjoying all the LFW streetstyle that's filtering through, Londoners have such quirky style and I am sure that the next couple of days and weeks will see a heap of inspiration. I have to thank the lovely Shini of Park and Cube and Jen of the Style Crusader for the pics below, and for being my eyes on the street at Somerset House. I'm not even going to begin to describe how much I wish I was there again this season.

DIY Sweatshirt Cardigan

Ok so who doesn't love grey marl? Grey marl DIYs, well they're pretty much up there with my favourite things of all time. The lovely Hannah of Thursdays Child put me onto this amazing DIY (I love when my readers let me know about their favourite DIYs!). A cardigan made out of an old sweatshirt from Heart Charlie (love this blog too, her addiction to stripes is lovely).  I've done this before with a pink silk top, created a little jacket by simply cutting down the middle and stitching the edges. Simples!

DIY Blogger Discovery - Love Aesthetics

Stumbled upon the most amazing blog this morning that I just had to share with you. Ivania of Love Aesthetics has the coolest vintage style, and a whole cache of utterly inspired (and simple) DIYs. Nothing seems too difficult for her! I am particularly inspired by her two tone silk shirt, her knotted tees and bolt jewellery, the white branch clothing rack (amazing!) and the zipper jacket. Head over to her blog and take some time to enjoy its clean and simple lines, Ivania's covetable style and her ability to pull off just about any colour lipstick.
Btw, how gorgeous are the tan leather pants?
