{a new month | happy february & hello}

. . . with so much happening lately, had nearly forgotten to wish you a happy february! already into the second month of this new year, and must confess that this month is actually one of my very favourites, for many reasons, and especially this year, with all of the exciting new things still to come [so very soon now -- can not wait to tell you] . . . hope your week has been lovely, lovely -- a few more things to share today, and still, weekend wishes & links, but for now, a quick hello on this beautiful february day . . .

. . . there is something quite mesmerising about the still life photographs of inês nepomuceno — taken in a studio with an analog camera, a series of photographs of her daily meals, "the banality of this food was transformed by the medium" into a beautiful play of light & shadow, resulting in a painterly quality that is strikingly lovely . . .

. . . while spring may be a time for paring down, autumn is for layering -- for sweaters and long scarves and at home, wool blankets and velvet drapes, and a need to revel in beautiful details, and perfectly ornate bits of gold -- along the edges exotic woods and around the graceful curves of spiral staircases . . .

. . . by the time you read this message, it will be many cups of coffee later, and well on our way out of town to new york for fashion week, having awoken at an impossible hour and caught a glimpse of the most spectacular september sunrise, the clouds an indescribably breathtaking and vibrant shade of pinkish-coral and lined in silver, and there will be fashion week events and breakfast meetings, long-overdue appointments and afternoon shows, cocktail dresses for 6pm soirées and can not wait to tell you!
