I'm not sure how to start this post, because the only thing I want to write is yaaaaaaaaay. Why? Because I'm so so so happy that spring is finally here! The weather is amazing and I try to enjoy it to the maxxxxx. I wore this outfit last Monday and I have to mention I felt very Burberry-esque (if that's an existing word). Not only because of the trench and the hat, but also because of the chic color palette of the look. Beige and other brown shades combined in one outfit always look elegant, in my opinion.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Ulyana
Ulyana Sergeenko, Paris, March 2012.
Did you see the article in British Vogue (April 2012) featuring the Russian girls Elena Perminova, Miroslava Duma, Vika Gazinskaya and Ulyana? I love that they admit to sharing their clothes during PFW (kind of like a girly slumber party.....only with a lot more designer clothes and beautiful beds at The Ritz instead of sleeping bags!).
Recreate Ulyana's look (kind of):
Topshop moto fitted denim shirt or Current/Elliott The Perfect Shirt
I really like the way Ulyana has dressed up her denim on denim look with the statement necklace. This is definitely a look you could wear in "real life".
Noir jewellery neon rope and crystal necklace or ASOS Krystal Swarovski Garden Statement necklace. Or instead of a oversized necklace, wear a pair of statement earrings. Love these Dannijo Monaco earrings (in fact anything by the Dannjio girls is pretty awesome!)

Camouflage
When I saw the weather forecast for yesterday, I didn't have to think for a long time about my choice of footwear for the day. For granted, I chose my all-time favorite suede wedge sandals. I almost forgot how comfortable they are and hey.. don't you think they are beyond gorgeous? I decided to go for sort of a camouflage look. I used items in brown and green shades, and completed the look with my new safari necklace. With an accessoire like that, you imagine yourself in sunny times already. And what's a better feeling than summer? I truly can't wait for it to be that season!

Neat, but youthful
If I've got a little time, I love trying new hairstyles on myself. Long hair provides lots of possibilities, so my hair is perfect to satisfy my creative needs. I try to heat my hair as little as possible, but I just bought a nourishing heat protection spray, so happily I'm able to use the curling- or flat iron more often. Unfortunately, my curling iron is very old and it doesn't work great anymore. So I need a better one. Then someone told me that a better alternative to create glamorous curls would be a flat iron. She's a hairdresser and she makes gorgeous curls with hers. I saw great flat irons here, and I was just wondering.. Do you think I'd do wise to buy one of those, or do you prefer a curling iron?
Then about my look of last Sunday. The hair is inspired by Gossip Girl's Serena. When I saw this hairstyle on her (season 3), I had to try it. I think it looks neat and classy, but playful at the same time. I did my best to create an outfit that's also characterized by these features. On the one hand I chose a sophisticated black blazer and my new Outfitters Nation pants, and on the other hand the snakeskin-printed pieces. I really like the balance between neat and youthful, and I hope you agree with me!

The perfect skirt
Finding the perfect skirt is more difficult than passing all of your exams with A+s, giving a speech about the economic recession on national television, or traveling around the world in just four days (only read the latter if you prefer exaggerated metaphors). Ironically, I found mine when my search for it was temporarily on a low flame. It has a metallic hue and its quality and length is beyond excellent. I styled it in combination with my black turtleneck sweater (which is very loose so it's great to wear a couple of layers underneath), the DIY oversized clutch, the silver cuff, and a glamorous black necklace. In my opinion, the latter is definitely the finishign touch to the look even though it's not highly visible because it's also black, but what do you think?

Sleepyhead
Sleepless nights inspired me to make a sort of just-got-out-of-bed-hairdo. Unfortunately, it turned out to look horrible on the pictures! It looked OK in reallife but when I saw the pictures I honestly uttered a scream. Anyway, I want to show you the pictures, because I do like the outfit I wore. My mother got me these amazing leggings. I think they don't need much accompanying items/accessoiries to look great, so I combined them with only a simple loose draped t-shirt, ankle boots and my new cardi from Outfitters Nation. Love the subtle amount of sequins on the latter!

Me vs the cold
Rachella 1 - 0 The cold
I outsmarted "the cold" this week several times: I battled him, dressed in chunky knits, warm leggings with print, boots, and thick scarves, so that he couldn't hurt me. My black leather overknee boots were great as a weapon against him, but today's outfit was also a good protection. The leggings I wore are from last year, but they are still one of my favorites and I was really pleased that I was able to wear them again. Another good thing about winter!

Outfit: "Business suit"
If you ask me, glasses are one of the best accessoiries when wearing a suit or a blazer. I paired them with red lips and two statement necklaces. Two necklaces? Why? Because I think only the black one should give a too serious look, and only the red one should break the whole. The use of these two necklaces together ensures that the separate items of the outfit complement each other. Further, a simple white tee and two-toned loafers to complete the black and white (and a pop of red) ensemble. It probably would seem that the bag clashes with the rest of the outfit because of its different color, but in my opinion it matches perfectly. I think it keeps the look a little playful, exciting and edgy.

Never showed material
I'm still on vacation and I've to confess I truly believe this place is paradise itself. The weather, the people, the culture.. Everything is as it should be. I'll fully enjoy every moment untill I have to leave this beautiful country. But before I show you some holidaypictures, I've got some never showed material for you. *drum rolls*
The never showed material consists of pictures of a few outfits I wore in the last two and half months. The looks vary from androgyne to indian summer to glamour with gold, and so on. 1) The first look I wore with a jeans jacket resting on my shoulders - very Parisian -, 2) the second outfit roughly consists of a Prada bag, DIY sheer shirt, leather shorts and Spijkers en Spijkers glasses, 3) the third one is just a simple summerlook, with bright pink strapless top and oversized sunnies, 4) the fourth outfit I called indian summer because of the headband, and the white asymmetric dress, 5) and last but not least the fifth look is a glamourous one with a lot of golden jewelry, leather sandals, oversized sunglasses and a white shirt-dress.
